Data Scientist

We’re hiring a Data Scientist to work on the one asset nobody else in this market has: cloro’s record of how AI search engines answer questions, who they cite, and how that changes week to week.

About the role

We already collect the data. Very little of it becomes public research. You’ll close that gap: find what the corpus actually says, publish it, and build the tracking that catches an engine changing behaviour before our customers feel it.

What you’ll do

• Mine the monitoring corpus for findings worth publishing: citations, share of voice, SERP features, crawler behaviour
• Run controlled collection when the existing data can’t answer the question
• Publish the results as /research/ studies and data-backed posts, written well enough that a skeptic can check them
• Build the change tracking: baselines and drift detection that say “AI Overviews started doing X on this date”, with the evidence behind it
• Define the metrics we report on, and write down their limits

What we’re looking for

• Base salary: Competitive base salary ($60k-100k)
• Performance bonus: ARR-based bonus (up to 100% of salary), plus 1.25x multiplier based on individual performance
• 3-6 years in data science, analytics, or quantitative research
• Strong SQL and Python
• Statistical judgement: you know when a difference is real and when it’s an artefact of how the data was collected
• You can write. We won’t hand your analysis to someone else to explain
• Comfortable with messy web data: scraped SERPs, LLM responses, crawl logs
• You don’t need an SEO background, but you should want to build one fast
