The ten blue links haven't been the whole page for years. To see what a modern Google result actually contains, we sampled 4,000 SERPs from cloro's monitoring and counted how often each feature appears.

PAA: 92%
People Also Ask is now nearly universal — present on 92% of sampled results, more common than any feature except the organic list itself.
AI Overview: 70%
An AI Overview appeared on 70% of sampled SERPs. A scraper or rank tracker that ignores the generative block is missing the top of two pages in three.
Share of the 4,000-SERP sample where each feature was present.
The headline is the pairing of AI Overview (70%) and People Also Ask (92%): the modern SERP leads with a generated answer and a stack of follow-up questions, and only then the organic links. For anyone parsing Google, both are now first-class fields, not edge cases.
The low ads (0.2%) and local-pack (0%) readings are a property of this corpus, not of Google. cloro's monitored mix skews toward the conversational and commercial-research queries customers track for AI visibility — the query types that rarely carry ads or a map pack. Read these two rows as "rare in this mix," not "rare on Google." The AI Overview and PAA rates, by contrast, are exactly the surfaces this corpus is built to measure.
A random 4,000-SERP sample was drawn from cloro's monitoring corpus over a 14-day window; each result was checked for the presence of five features. Presence is binary (the feature rendered at least once on the page). The corpus is customer AI-visibility monitoring, so it over-represents conversational and commercial-research intent relative to all Google traffic — the AI Overview and People Also Ask figures are the directly-measured findings; ads and local-pack rates are corpus-dependent (see above).
